How to Store Your Sourdough Bread

How to Store Your Sourdough Bread
Proper storage can make the difference between bread that stays fresh for days and bread that goes stale overnight.

For short-term storage (1-2 days), keep your sourdough cut-side down on a wooden cutting board, or wrap it in a clean linen towel. Avoid plastic bags as they trap moisture and soften the crust.

For longer storage (3-5 days), wrap tightly in beeswax wrap or a paper bag, then place in a bread box or cool pantry.

For the longest storage, slice your bread and freeze it. Sourdough freezes beautifully! Toast slices directly from frozen for the best results.

Never store sourdough in the refrigerator - the cold accelerates staling.
